Sector Group Meeting – Proximity & Social Economy
The Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC) invites you to join this two days sector group meeting. During this event, we will exchange experiences between advisors about the Enterprise Europe Network advisory services and SME clients regarding the proximity and social economy sector. We will also share information about European Union funding opportunities. Besides, a training session to acquire new knowledge for better advice for the clients will be developed. This event will also allow us to exchange impressions about the sector group activities in the next contract period.

We will also enjoy some study visits activities that could involve trekking or cultural & nature sightseeing to reinforce networking among advisors. More details will be provided during the registration.

The menu features fresh, seasonal products sourced directly from their own ecological farm in the Anaga mountains, embracing a true “kilometre zero” philosophy. |

Start of the trekking activity connecting La Laguna and Tegueste, with social visits along the way This route will be accompanied by two active tourism companies: Tivity: Led by an official tourism guide from the Government of the Canary Islands, Tivity specializes in sustainable tourism and environmental projects. Tenique Outdoor: A youth-led enterprise based in northern Tenerife, Tenique Outdoor offers immersive experiences that combine adventure with the island’s cultural and gastronomic heritage. Route details: – Total distance: 5.2 km. Elevation gain: +145 m. Elevation loss: -246m. – Difficulty: Easy to medium Terrain: Combination of paved roads and uneven rocky paths Local Social Spotlight – Asociación SUMAS During the route, we will briefly introduce the work of Asociación SUMAS, a local non-profit based in La Laguna that supports children, youth, families, and individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges. They promote social inclusion through education, care, and integration projects. |

Breakfast Picknick provided by Buscándome las habichuelas This is a local social insertion company that works with fresh and ecological products as well as employing people in risk of social exclusion Cultural demonstration: Live performance of Salto del Pastor (Shepherd’s Leap) by a practitioner from Anaga, representing the Salto del Pastor Association of Taborno. This is an inspiring example of cultural entrepreneurship that preserves a unique Canarian heritage. |

Visit to Bodega Barreto (Tegueste) Experience a visit to Bodega Barreto, a family-run winery led by Loli Barreto, a woman entrepreneur continuing the legacy of her mother and grandmother. This initiative exemplifies female entrepreneurship in the primary sector, preserving identity in what is known as «heroic agriculture.» The visit includes a tasting of typical local products and two varieties of wine. During the visit, we will also introduce the Anaga Biofest project, a festival celebrating rural life and sustainable tourism with local impact and development in the Anaga Biosphere Reserve. |

Practical information
Airports (North & South)
You can get to Tenerife by plane in one of its airport (Tenerife North and Tenerife South). Since the event is in Santa Cruz, we recommend you to arrive to the North Airport.
Accommodation
The host organization is near the city center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna, where there are different hotels categories. You will find a full guide of accommodations in the downloable document.
Public Transportion (Bus & Metro)
If you stay in Santa Cruz or La Laguna, you might have various options of public transport to get to the Instituto Tencológico de Canarias building, both bus and metro.
